The very best scores from two of the greatest film composers will be performed in Birmingham this weekend.

Zimmer vs Williams will celebrate the iconic music of Hans Zimmer and John Williams, featuring scores from blockbuster films such as E.T., Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Batman Begins, The Da Vinci Code, The Dark Knight Rises, Superman, Inception, Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator, Man of Steel and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Cinderella In Hollywood - Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury

English Youth Ballet will bring new productions Cinderella In Hollywood to Shrewsbury this weekend.

Set in the glamorous era of Hollywood movies in the 50s, the show draws inspiration from film starlet Grace Kelly, who met Prince Rainier of Monaco at a press party and later married him.

The music combines Shostakovich jazz suites with tunes from Hollywood films, Tea For Two, China Town and Dancing In the Dark.

Cinderella In Hollywood will also be staged on Saturday.

Ludlow Friday Festival - Multiple Locations

Enjoy a range of live music shows, comedy, art and more at Ludlow Fringe Festival this weekend.

Foodies Festival - Cannon Hill Park

Foodies Festival, the UK’s biggest food festival, returns to Birmingham Cannon Hill Park this weekend.

Tony Iommi - Town Hall, Birmingham

Birmingham metal icon Tony Iommi will talk about his life and career in his hometown this Saturday.

The guitar virtuoso, who was born in Handsworth, will speak at Birmingham Town Hall in an intimate evening for fans hosted by TV sports presenter Gary Newbon.

Tony is not only a founding member of heavy metal idols Black Sabbath, but also worked as the band's primary composer.

The 70-year-old star is also featured in the UK and US Rock 'N' Roll Halls Of Fame, is the owner of two Grammy Awards and his autobiography was a New York Times Bestseller.

Shrewsbury Food Festival - The Quarry

Up to 25,000 people will converge on Shrewsbury’s Quarry Park for the town’s annual food festival on Saturday and Sunday.

The event will feature more than 200 exhibitors, including scores of award-winning producers from across the region. There will also be the opportunity for people to buy crafts from Shropshire artisans, who will give demonstrations throughout the weekend.

Culinary experts that will be in attendance include Paul Askew, Leo Kattou, Gareth Ward Chris Burt, Karl Martin, Rob Swift and more.

Soundwaves Music Competition UK National Final - O2 Institute 3, Birmingham

The final round of the Soundwaves Music Competition UK will take place in Birmingham on Saturday.

Acts that will compete include Wolverhampton group The Icon, Ryan Smith, Escapade, Maxwell Avenue, Josh Newell Brown, Francesca Louise, Kingsmen, Tongue of Fire.

Previous competition winners include As Sirens Fall, who won in 2016 and then went on to perform at Download Festival twice, and Sam Lavery – who then went on to finish in the top few acts on The X Factor in 2016.
