'My breasts aren't as pointy as the first Lara!' Alicia Vikander reveals the pressure of taking over Tomb Raider role as she details epic four month training regime

She's taking on the challenge of playing the legendary Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider reboot.

And while she certainly looks the part in the trailer for the anticipated movie, Alicia Vikander has admitted there is one infamous characteristic of Lara's she's failed to adopt.

Speaking on Friday night's Graham Norton, the Swedish beauty quips:  'My breasts are not as pointy as the first Lara!'

Alicia follows in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie who fronted the Tomb Raider franchise from 2001-2003.

While the actress admits she doesn't have the same physical appearance as the Lara from the famous video games on which the movies are based, she tells Graham: 'I had a clear vision of how I wanted to play her.'

'I was a huge fan as a kid and whilst I was too scared to play the games when I was 10, I learnt all her moves.'

The ballet dancer turned Oscar winner, who looked gorgeous in a Altuzarra dress for her appearance, also speaks about the gruelling training regime she was put on to get in shape for the leading role.  

 'It took about four months to get in shape and I had never lifted a thing with my arms before – I did ballet – and the trainer told me I was really underdeveloped,' she explains.

'I thought the muscles would stay forever, but after three weeks of no training I lost it all.'

Alicia achieved world wide acclaim for her role in the 2015 movie The Danish Girl, which earned her her Oscar.   

But in the three years since her big win, the actress admits she's barely spent any time with her award, leaving the statuette in Los Angeles.  

 'I only had one night with him. I decided he was too heavy to bring home in my hand luggage so my friend's daughter has him in her bedroom,' she confesses.

'I get updates with photos on what he's up to. I've been on the move for some time but I am going to get him soon and bring him home.'
