The Freixenet Cordón Negro sports a new sleek look with an updated label

Henkell Freixenet Head of Sales for GTR Ramon Olive said: “We are excited to show the 2024 novelties for our global sparkling wine brands, including the relaunch of the iconic black bottle Freixenet Cordon Negro and the introduction of the Mionetto Aperitivo Alc. Freixenet

Freixenet has revealed a refreshed logo design which represents the core values of the brand. Grupo Freixenet Co CEO and Vice President Pedro Ferrer commented: “The beautiful new logo preserves the essence of our history while also embracing a fresh chapter in our brand story.”

Henkell Freixenet Chief Marketing Officer Martina Obregón added: “The new logo resonates strongly with consumers. The Freixenet brand is not just a label for our products; it is an emotional experience that represents their aspirations and attitude toward life.

“The design is inspired by the distinctive mosaic façade at Freixenet headquarters in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. It proudly features the dynamic letter X at the centre as the unmistakable emblem of the brand’s quality and joyful spirit.”

To mark the 50th anniversary of the first release of the Freixenet Cordón Negro, the company has introduced a redesigned packaging.

The rebranded expression includes a new core label design to reflect the brand’s quality and craftsmanship while still featuring key brand cues.

Introduced in 1974 in Spain, Freixenet Cordón Negro was originally presented in a sleek, black frosted bottle. Over the years, the packaging design has undergone various makeovers.

Ferrer added: “We are thrilled with the new design. It is more premium, more confident, more distinctive. It will distinguish Freixenet from competition and reinforce our reputation as a progressive, innovative and customer-centric brand.”

The refreshed packaging presentation comes in its flagship Cavas, Cordón Negro, Cordón Oro and Cordón Rosé and will be rolled out throughout the year.

The company will launch global travel retail activations to commemorate Freixenet Cordon Negro’s 50th year. The brand is also now listed with Spanish airline Iberia for its onboard menu.

Mionetto

Prosecco brand Mionetto will be rolling out two innovations: Mionetto Aperitivo and Mionetto Aperitivo Alcohol Free.

Mionetto Aperitivo features a combination of the fresh and fruity aromas of Mionetto Prosecco with the flavours of a Venetian Spritz. The Prosecco offers 100% natural flavours and blends sweet red-orange and liquorice flavours with the acidity of citrus and the bitterness of botanicals and oranges.

Mionetto Alcohol Free represents Henkell Freixenet’s further expansion into the no and low spirits category, amid the demand for its 0.0% sparkling wine products. It is made with 100% natural flavours based on selected citrus, fruits and botanicals, and delivers a light Italian spirits experience. It is now available in global travel retail.

In addition to Mionetto Alcohol Free, the release also includes the Freixenet 0.0% Still Wines, Freixenet Alcohol-Free, Henkell Alcohol-Free Rosé and Mionetto 0.0%.

To promote these new products, the company launched the Feel Free marketing campaign, which focuses on the tropical aromas and fruit flavours of its brands.

At the Singapore show, the channel-exclusive Mionetto Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG Brut will continue to be the main highlight for the brand’s recently updated Luxury Collection.

According to Henkell Freixenet, the Luxury Collection blends Mionetto’s Prosecco-making expertise with the craftsmanship of Venetian glass artisans.

The premium Prosecco combines Glera and Pinot Noir grapes vinified in red, which gives the Cuvée its pink-peach blossom colour and fruity bouquet. It offers notes of little red berries and grapefruit.

Both product ranges are listed with Dufry and available in 84 shops across 26 countries.

Mionetto will also present its Prestige Collection at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition with a focus on hero products Mionetto Prosecco DOC Treviso and Prosecco Rosé DOC.

Champagne Alfred Gratien

As it marks its 160th anniversary this year, Champagne Alfred Gratien is set to extend its footprint in travel retail.

Founded in Epernay in 1864, the brand is marking this important year with a refreshed packaging design and labels.

The travel retail-exclusive Brut will bring flair to the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition in Singapore

Since January 2023, the bottles feature refreshed labels with a lighter coat of arms and new lettering. In addition to the monogram in the coat of arms, Alfred Gratien’s signature has been added to the lower part of the label to emphasise the brand’s authenticity. The fine Champagne is characterised by its crisp and elegant flavour.

The brand has also launched a travel retail-exclusive twin pack with Gebr. Heinemann, now available in the retailer’s stores in Germany and Norway.

Segura Viudas

During the Singapore event, Cava house Segura Viudas will again focus on premium Cavas Brut Vintage and Rosé Vintage. Both expressions are housed in sleek bottles inspired by the brand’s signature Segura Viudas Reserva Heredad Cava.

Brut Vintage features a blend of oak-aged Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Macabeo and Parellada, aged for a minimum of nine months. Crafted from the finest Pinot Noir and Garnatxa grapes, the Rosé Vintage undergoes a minimum nine-month ageing process, resulting in a luscious flavour profile with a hint of spice and a fresh, elegant finish.

All three Cavas were crafted to complement fine gastronomic experiences and the winery is actively seeking culinary partnerships to develop this unique offer. ✈
