SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS)—Grambling State University’s esteemed Orchesis Dance Company is gearing up to dazzle audiences with its much-anticipated 15th annual “Dance His High Praise” concert.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 20th, at the historic downtown Strand Theatre in Shreveport at 7 p.m.

Artistic Director J’aime Griffith says this concert is a chance for students to showcase the hard work they have put in throughout the year and during the off-season performing on the football field.

Show Producer Vincent Williams, founder of Extensions of Excellence, has chosen to honor 15 trailblazers from the Ark-La-Tex region. In a gesture of support for aspiring dancers, Williams will also present a $2000 scholarship to a deserving future prodigy of the Orchesis Dance Company in honor of his mother, Helen Horton.

The performance promises an enchanting display of talent, featuring diverse dance styles, including ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, liturgical, and more. This carefully curated selection reflects the versatility and skill of the company’s dancers, who have devoted countless hours to perfecting their craft.

Tickets can be purchased from the Strand Theatre’s box office now or on the day of the show.
